An imposing 158-ft. long, with masts and rigging reaching up 120 feet from the deck, New York’s largest and most elegant sailing vessel accommodates up to 134 passengers.
A replica of the lumber-hauling schooners that drove America’s industry more than a century ago, Clipper City was built in the mid-1980s using plans purchased from the Smithsonian.
Designed with her new cargo in mind (i.e. you), her decks are spacious and comfortable, with ample seating, a full bar amidships and a raised quarter deck back aft that allows for unparalleled views of the city and it’s harbor.
The Clipper City departs daily from Pier 17 at 89 South Street in New York.

What a hidden gem in NYC (you really need to go behind pier 17 to find the dock)! We booked the sunset jazz sail and we haven't been disappoited! In fact this was one of the best things we did on our trip to New York! The whole crew was very nice and welcoming and the tour gets you some stunning views of the skyline as well as of the statue of liberty! Just calm down from the NYC pace and get yourself 2 hours of relaxing cruise - it's well worth it!

The crew is very friendly and welcomes you to lend a hand raising the sails. The ship is clean, roomy and very stable. Music is by jazz artist Michael, who plays a variety of instruments and matched the vibe perfectly with a well chosen song list. My Blood Orange Old Fashioned from the bar was even better than it sounds. The views are amazing. We sailed away from Pier 17 and enjoyed beautiful views of lower Manhattan, Governor's Island and Ellis Island, but the highlight was watching the sunset behind the Statue of Liberty. The pictures I posted don't do it justice.

WOW - absolute must do if you are in NYC! What a cool experience! We got on the night cruise that runs out to the Statue of Liberty and back and it was amazing. They have a bar on the boat and super friendly staff (Elizabeth was so helpful and made booking easy), I can't recommend this enough. I'll definitely do this again and check out some of their other experiences (cocktail cruise, smaller ship, sunset cruise, etc)
